The Sabrecats are back practicing at full pace in order to be ready for the BCA competition on February 28th. Well rested after the Christmas break everyone is working hard to learn the cheer and keep those stunts up!
December 08
The Sheffield Sabrecats traveled with the American Footballers to Leeds to take on the Celtics on Sunday the 14th for their last game before the Christmas break. This was a highly anticipated match as Leeds are considered the best team in the league and the game promised to be exciting. It was a huge success (once again despite the freezing weather) but the girls sprirt and the boys talent could not be beaten. After hours of chants and jumps (and some work from the boys too) the score ended up at 14-0. A huge success!
November 08
The first American Football game of the season was against the Nottingham Outlaws at Bawtry Road Sports Ground on Sunday 23rd of November. The Sabrecats were there to support the guys, complete with new uniforms and new cheers! Despite our lovely captain confusing the bus times and the freezing cold weather the Cheerleaders were full of good old fashioned ‘spirit’ and kept up their cheers till the end which resulted in a brilliant 13-2 victory leaving the footballers and Cheerleaders very happy
The biggest event of November was of course the BCA (British Cheerleading Association) competition squad list being announced. After weeks of hard work from everyone followed by much deliberation from our coaches the squad was picked and practice of our new and exciting routine began. Congratulations to the 25 girls picked for the squad. Let’s win this year!
