If you haven’t chosen to take our all inclusive rent here are some helpful tips as to how you set up your utility accounts.
Step 1: Take a meter read on the day that you collect the keys for the property.There may be more than one reading so make a note of them all. If you have an electronic meter you will need to press a button to scroll through the display. If you have a dial read the lowest number that the meter points at i.e. if it lies between 5 and 6 the reading is 5.
Step 2: If you don’t already know your supplier contact Mpas on 0845 3300889 give them your full address including post code. Inform them that you have moved into the property and would like to find out your supplier. They will give you the suppliers name and contact number.
Step 3: Call your supplier, advise them of the start date of your tenancy and the meter readings. From there they will set up a billing account in your names. Please note your tenancy agreement states do not switch suppliers.
Step 4: When you receive a bill make sure that you always pay on a meter reading, this will make sure your payments are accurate, and ensure that you only pay for electricity that you have used during your tenancy period.

Step 1: Your water is supplied by Yorkshire Water, they can be contacted on 0845 1 24 24 24. If you have a water meter they will ask you for a reading, ask if you are unsure where this is located.
Step 2: Again advise them of your tenancy start date, and they will set the water account up in your names.
Step 3: If you do have a meter ensure that you always pay your bills on a reading, this will make sure your payments are accurate, and ensure you only pay for the water used during your tenancy period.
