Information For Guarantors
A guarantor is a third party, usually a parent, relative or close friend who takes financial responsibility if the tenant fails to cover the costs associated with the property such as rent, damages or other charges.
A Guarantor has be over 21 years, be a UK resident and be in full/part time employment.
Guarantors will need to provide proof of address and identity documents as part of the guarantor agreement such as the below;
Proof of idenity documents
- Photocard driving Licence
- Passport
Proof of address documents
- Proof of address (usually less than 3 months old) such as:
- A utility bill or statement
- Bank statement
- Current council tax bill
We can also accept a selection of other documents full details of which can be provided should you not have the above
If a tenant does not have an individual able to act as guarantor we would recommend Housing Hand, who will act as a Guarantor for both home and international students. For more information please visit the following link;
